My One Week Partnership with Lexus

getting there.

It has a lot of meanings, to some it could mean getting to a goal, getting to a place of happiness, getting to a destination or like me one day I will get there, “there” being recovered and well.

Last week Lexus helped get “there” as I partnered with them as I focused on my fitness goals. The week consisted of 2 Yoga Six Sculpt classes which I taught, 2 physical therapy sessions + vestibular, and a Studio Three restorative yoga class complimentary from Lexus to further help me achieve my fitness goals.

I drove the 2019 Lexus NX 300 F Sport and man was this one hard to part with at the end of my partnership, it was almost too easy adjusting to this car, we were a natural fit. Not to mention it had the dreamy new car smell. As a full-time designer I appreciated all aspects of the sleek design of the 2019 Lexus NX 300 F Sport, a sports car built for me, mid-size SUV with a roomy trunk with a Power Rear Door with Kick Sensor, so there was plenty of room for my yoga mats, gym bags, foam rollers, backpack and I was ok if I had my hands full. Most of the classes I take or teach are either early morning or evening, which in Chicago that means bitter cold. One of my FAVORITE features was the heated steering wheel and seats. It heated up quick, you could feel it warming up before you left the garage I was spoiled by that feature. Another amazing feature is the Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, when you're driving in the city you are among a lot of crazy city drivers, however, equipped with that feature I felt extra safe on the road and it would alert me anyone or thing was getting too close. When I teach I am lucky enough to have garage parking at my studio which makes getting to class easy but what made it easier were the cameras on the Lexus, parking garages in the city are typically tight they want to fit as many cars in there as possible. When you put the Lexus in reverse you could see an aerial view of the car...meaning you could SEE WHERE YOU WERE IN THE YELLOW LINES, absolutely amazing.

But what I loved most about the Lexus is how comfortable I was driving it, it was great on gas and drove so smooth. Driving the Lexus also helped me on my journey of “getting there” not only physically but mentally. I haven't been very comfortable taking public transportation so having the Lexus made it easer for me to make it to my fitness classes. My fitness life as most of you know is slightly different than the average gal. My fitness goals are to find inner peace, strengthen my brain, heart, and courage. I tend to take more yoga and deep stretch classes along with 2-mile walk with the dog. While at physical therapy we work on strengthening my neck, shoulders, and back. My fitness goals might not be to run a 6 min mile but it is to live a healthier, happier life and thank you, Lexus, for helping me get closer to my "there."

And at the end of the day,

All that matters is where you are going and that you get there, never give up and keep on your journey.
